Maker’s Market at Queen Bee Coffee – Back at It!

Boy was it a cold one for our first Maker’s Market showing at Queen Bee Coffee in McDonough, GA on November 29th! The day started with set up at 7am with a balmy 32 degrees! BRRRRRR! The market was open from 8am – 4pm. Temps never rose above about 50 degrees the entire day (it was 80 earlier in the week!) It was our first time attending a show in many years after taking some time off from the “PIE” for a number of years. We had a pretty good turn out and will be donating our profits to a local charity soon. Thanks to everyone that came out and supported us!

Plush Pups Make Everyone Smile

I have been making these sweet little puppies since 2011 and they are always a hit at the local craft fairs. Typically I make a bunch of these for the craft fairs but these are also available as a custom item on our Etsy shop so buyers can pick out the color choices they like.

Super easy care instructions and no buttons make these perfect for the little kiddos.

I love making these puppies and it’s a nice break from quilting or knitting.

Happy Sewing, everyone!

HO! HO! HO! Holiday Quilted Throw by PeetiePie

HO! HO! HO! This quilt is gorgeous and perfect for snuggling under this holiday seaason!

The quilting process is long……full of highs and lows, but so worth it in the end when you finish the binding, step back and give yourself a virtual high-five for all your hard work…..it’s a great feeling!

Most quilts take 40-80+ hours. They are all made with love and even more swear words. Picking out fabrics, cutting and sewing all the pieces, cutting all those strings, quilting it, binding it, and cutting even more strings. But then, it’s done……and you feel so happy when your art is finally finished, but it’s even better to see someone snuggled up in it! 🙂

I used my Tilda fabric for this one and it turned out MARVELOUS! This one took me closer to 100 hours to complete but was well worth it. I had left over material and made 8 quilted stockings to match it. Usually I am not a fan of being all “matchy matchy” but this worked out quite well and they really compliment one another.

Peppermint Pinwheels – Making the Perfect Little Quilt!

Looking for a quick quilting project for the holidays? Peppermint Pinwheels is the perfect pre-cut quilt kit for you!

The quilting process can be a very long process full of ripped out stitches trying to achieve those perfect points. Usually I find a pattern I like, pick out the fabrics, cut everything (even if there are 1000’s of pieces to cut!), sew the quilt top, quilt it by hand or use my Janome Quilt Maker Pro 20 to quilt it, bind it by hand, and then stand back to admire it.

But, sometimes it’s just great to just have someone else handle those very time consuming up front tasks for you such as pattern selection, finding the perfect complimentary fabrics, and cutting all those pieces out for you. When I feel like “cheating” a bit, I always turn to Quilt1o1 and utilize one of their pre-cut quilting kits. These kits are designed to be less complex to piece it together, and the patterns are super easy to understand.; basically you can save yourself a ton of time and get to the end state much faster with a little $$ up front.

NOTE: This Peppermint Pinwheel Pre-Cut Quilt Kit purchased from Quitl101 features fabric from the Adventale fabric collection by Katarina Roccella for Art Gallery Fabrics. This quilt finishes at 65″x81″.

Autumn is Here!

Grab your favorite book, a warm beverage, and this quilted large throw for the perfect cozy afternoon of reading!

This handmade quilt is SO beautiful and gets us all ready for the cooler temps and gorgeous leaves! This quilt would make a great gift, a birthday or Christmas present, or just because! At 72 inches length and 72 inches wide it’s a great size for snuggling under while reading a book or watching TV, and can be used on a Twin/Full bed.

The quilt is made from all cotton quilting fabric, cotton thread and light weight organic cotton batting. The back of the quilt has a complimentary cotton fabric material. The primary colors of the quilt are various shades of peach, gold, brown, pink, black, green, orange, coral and many other colors.

I often get asked if I make all of the quilts? Yes, absolutely. I make each quilt myself; cut out the fabric, make the quilt top and quilt with my own long arm machine. All items are made in a pet free and smoke environment. I do not wash the quilt after I complete it so the new owner can wash and dry with the detergent and scents they prefer. Once the quilt is washed, the classic crinkly quilt texture will pop!
