Doing our Part to Keep the Kiddos Reading!

PeetiePie has donated to the organization many times over the years. They are based in Athens, GA and that’s where I began my very own reading journey at Chase Street Elementary way back in the 70’s, so I always want to give back to this great charity that supports kids in my old stomping grounds.

Christmas Presents for A Friend’s House

PeetiePie was happy to help out a local children’s charity in our back yard, A Friend’s House.

We’ve made donations to this charity before, but this time we were able to buy several items on their Amazon Holiday Wish List. We love doing our part to help others and hope our purchases will make their Christmas merry and bright!

Visit A Friend’s House to learn more about what they do, to make a donation or find out how you can volunteer.

PeetiePie Donates to Street Paws

We made a donation to a wonderful cause, Street Paws. My friend has been a very involved volunteer with Street Paws for years and I hear about their great work often. We were happy to be able to help this great charity.

Their Mission: To ensure that homeless animals are provided food, medical attention, and love until a suitable forever home is found. For ferals, this may include supporting them in their original environment through our special care initiative. In addition, they also focus on spay/neuter and vaccination efforts that include educational programs for our communities to ensure their pets do not become another homeless statistic.

PeetiePie Donates to Haven House

PeetiePie was happy to donate and help out this local charity. To learn more about them or to make a donation visit Haven House.

Haven House is a 30-day emergency shelter which can house 40 to 50 residents. It provides for both privacy and socialization, with trained staff available to help guide residents through the process of finding legal protection and moving to safer permanent housing.

Adults who come to the shelter alone are housed in a double room and share a community bathroom facility, similar to a college dormitory. Adults with children are housed in an individual family room with a private bath. There are six double rooms and nine family rooms.

Haven House has a playroom for younger children, a lounge for teens, a community living room, and a large, modern kitchen with several cooking areas. There are also two spacious laundry rooms for residents to use.

Little Helpers Doing their Part!

Today was “donate warm clothes to other kids day” at school so the girls each donated some coats, sweaters, hats and gloves so other kids have warm clothes, too. I found a few brand new PeetiePie hats I knitted a while ago to donate, too.
