Last colors of summer!

Well, I messed up one of the squares on this one, but I had already quilted it before I even noticed the mistake. Definitely makes this one unique. Minus the mistake I have come to terms with, the colors in the quilt are just gorgeous. So glad I made this one, mistake and all.

Minecraft – Another fun quilt completed!

This was a birthday present request for my daughter. She loved it. No pattern and guessed at the colors based on an image I found online.

Stash Buster! Practicing Freehand on the Quilter

Don’t pay any attention to the terrible quilting job or uneven corners. I was just practicing with the front of my quilting machine, learning the tools and was in a hurry to have something to play with. Normally I use the rear handles and a pantograph. I used an old sheet for the white areas instead of my quilting cotton (since I needed 780+ inches squares for example!) so it puckered quite a bit as expected. I do like the other colors and will probably make a “real one” soon.

This is another pattern that utilized 10 inch squares. I made my own from existing material I had purchased a while ago. I loved the quilt, but man did I stink up the free hand quilting on my long arm machine. I need LOTS for practice!

Classic Beauty from Quilt101

Sometimes you just don’t need a cool back story to accompany your finished art. Sometimes a picture is worth a 1000 words. When I feel like making a quick quilt, I love buying pre-cut kits from Quilt101. This one is just lovely. Happy Quilting, everyone!

Stash Buster! Makes me think of Spring

I don’t recall this name of this pattern, but it’s a great way to use up extra fabric. It uses 10 inch squares for the colored fabrics, but if you buy 1/2 yards, you can cut out your own 10 inch squares vs. buying a specialty curated 10 inch square pack….and that’s exactly what I did, which is always cheaper in the long run.

I used what I had in the shop and came up with this lovely large throw, and she’s gorgeous. This one would make a great baby shower or bridal shower gift. And it looks great on my $10 thrifted quilt holder that I painted with white chalk paint.
