Well, it’s an iterative process I suppose… but now we have decent pagination for both the charitable page as well as this blog page. Learn a little every day!!

PeetiePie Makes Donation to Nicholas House
We were happy to be able to help out one of our favorite charities again, the Nicholas House in Atlanta, GA with a monetary donation. The Nicholas House is a nonprofit agency that operates a transitional housing shelter as well as scattered apartment sites for homeless families.
Their Mission – Assisting homeless families in making the transition from homelessness to self-sufficiency in a structured but home-like environment. Nicholas House is committed to assisting its families attain three goals that form the basis of self-sufficiency.
- Earning a Living Wage
- Maintaining the Physical, Mental and Social Health of Parents and Children
- Maintaining Safe and Stable Housing
Nicholas House understands that providing basic subsistence – food and shelter – is necessary but not sufficient to prevent most homeless families from becoming homeless again.
Nicholas House accepts homeless families no matter what their size and makeup: expectant mothers, single mothers and fathers, couples and their children, including teenage male children-and large families with as many as 10 members.
Because most shelters are gender-specific, serving only men or women and their children, homelessness often separates family members from each other, often times with devastating consequences. By accepting the entire family, Nicholas House helps keep families together.
Please visit Nicholas House to learn more about what they do and how you can volunteer your time or make a donation to assist those in need.
The PeetiePie shipping department is on fire!
Ok.. I’ve been doing my job as “shipping dept”. It’s Steph that’s been on fire filling recent doll orders! She keeps saying I need to learn to sew, but I’ve been so far resisting the call.
PeetiePie donates to Summer Lunch Program
While watching the local news this morning and getting ready for work, my husband and I saw a story about Must Ministries and the awesome services they provide to the local communities – Cobb, Cherokee, Douglas, Gwinnett, North Fulton and Paulding counties.
Thousands of children who normally eat free and reduced cost school lunches are home during the summer with little or no food. This critical situation is overcome in part with the effective MUST Summer Lunch Program. Every weekday for 10 weeks, sack lunches are packed and hand delivered to targeted locations suggested by school counselors throughout the area. Six counties are in the Summer Lunch network where staff, volunteers and donors bring daily meals to grateful children. During the summer of 2011, nearly 142,000 sack lunches were served to hungry children in Cobb, Cherokee, Douglas, Gwinnett, North Fulton, and Paulding Counties.
In addition to the monetary donation that PeetiePie made on 6/6/12, we are happy that we will also be able to volunteer at the Food Pantry soon and volunteer our time that way as well. The company my husband and I work for, CA Technologies, provides a service to its employees to locate volunteer opportunities in their communities. We were able to sign up for this wonderful opportunity as a result of that service. 🙂
